eftpos BIN Inquiry API

Secure access to BIN list data, made simple. Obtains the latest effective debit card and BIN payment reference data. The BIN identifies the type of card (eftpos proprietary, multi-network), card issuer, card subtype (debit, credit or pre-paid) and length of the card number (PAN). This API is ideal for caching BIN reference data in payment switches, payment gateways and merchant terminals to validate and route eftpos transactions.

Note: To ensure the most current information is used, it is highly recommended that the BIN list be refreshed on a regular basis. A weekly refresh is a good starting point as it provides a good balance between keeping the information current. However, the frequency of refresh may need to be adjusted based on factors as per the need.
